Professor Ralph Henham
Ralph Henham is Professor of Criminal Justice at Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University, UK. He has researched and published extensively on the theoretical, international, comparative and policy-related aspects of punishment and sentencing. Recent publications include Punishment and Process in International Criminal Trials (2005); Transforming International Criminal Justice: retributive and restorative justice in the trial process (2005) and Beyond Punishment: Achieving International Criminal Justice (2010) (with Mark Findlay); Sentencing and the Legitimacy of Trial Justice (2011) and Sentencing: Time for a Paradigm Shift (forthcoming 2013). Ralph is a co-editor of Ashgate’s series on International and Comparative Criminal Justice and an editorial board member of the International Journal of Law, Crime and Justice. He has held visiting positions at the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford, Sydney and the European University Institute, Florence, and is a Visiting Professor in the School of Law, Politics and Sociology at the University of Sussex, UK.
