The Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Papers, like all of the the manuscript collections held by the Powell Archives, has an XML/EAD encoded finding aid. This was made possible by the Virginia Heritage Project Task Force of the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA) and funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Secondary, more detailed finding aids to specific portions of the Powell Papers, including a listing of all Supreme Court case files and listings of Powell correspondents, are listed below. These listings are still being edited and corrected. They are word processing documents, with the exception of the Excel spreadsheet format of the Supreme Court cases listing. These documents are not EAD or XML encoded. There are, however, links from the relevant portions of the encoded guide to these indices.
