NALP Regional coordinators play a significant role in planning, implementing, and leading specific components of the Association's annual education conference. Olan, who just returned from NALP's annual planning meeting, believes her participation will help introduce W&L law students to more potential employers.
"As a member of the 2011 annual education planning committee, W&L Law can contribute to the discussion of issues affecting the profession at this transitional time in the legal market," said Olan. "This is also a great opportunity to meet and collaborate with firm and law school leaders in the profession and raise the law school's national profile."
A former law clerk herself, Olan has also been selected to serve as Vice Chair for the State Court Working Group of NALP's Judicial Clerkship Section. During the 2010 annual conference, she participated on a Judicial Clerkship sponsored panel titled, "America the Beautiful: Exploring the Country through State Court Clerkships."
Olan joined the Career Planning office at Washington and Lee in 2007. She received her J.D. from Northeastern University, after which she clerked for the Massachusetts Superior Court before relocating to Virginia. She previously served as the Executive Director of Project Horizon, a nonprofit domestic violence and sexual assault agency, in Lexington, and as a clerk for two judges on the Court of Appeals of Virginia.Email This Page
