Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia, USA, announces the establishment of a fellowship for one qualified German LL.M. student.
The financial aid package provided by W&L will include:
- $10,000 tuition scholarship
- employment as a research assistant to cover some additional costs.
Additional potential funding through DAAD, the German academic exchange service, exists to cover airfare, health insurance costs, and a living costs stipend. Download the program brochure for complete details.
The research assistantship will require the student to work closely with W&L law professor Russell Miller in three distinct capacities. First, the selected student will serve as managing editor of the German Law Journal. The student will assist with all facets of the monthly production of the successful, online transnational law journal, co-founded by Professor Miller. Second, the student will serve as a teaching assistant in the German Law related courses. Third, the student will be responsible for assisting Professor Miller with research on other comparative law related projects.

Applicants for the DAAD portions of the fellowship must be made separately and in conformity with DAAD's application procedures, including the 31 March 2010 Deadline. Applications to the DAAD should clearly indicate interest in the W&L/DAAD/GLJ fellowship.
