Negin Farahmand addresses the jury during the 2011 Mock Trial

2011 Mock Trial Finals – Friday, Dec. 2

Tyler Laughinghouse was the winner of the 2011 Mock Trial and Negin Farahmand was the runner-up. Also competing in the finals were Matthew Rasmussen and Alexander Sugzda.

The finals were judged by the Honorable John A. Gibney, Jr., United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the Honorable John Parkins '72L, Superior Court of Delaware, and the Honorable Robert Payne '63, '67L, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

2011 Client Counseling Finals – Wednesday, Nov. 3

Patrick Becker and William Underwood won the 2011 Client Counseling Competition. Also competing in the finals were the teams of Chris Edwards and Anaeli Sandoval and Michael Warner and Britteny Jenkins.

2011 John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Competition Finals – Friday, Oct. 21

David Miller was the Winners of the 32nd Annual John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Competition and Steve Harkins was 1st Runner-Up. Also competing in the finals were Anthony Roddy Flynn and Matthew Rasmussen. Peter Choi and Nathan Jensen won top honors and Rudy Burshnic and Steven Harkins were 1st Runner-Up in the Best Brief Competition.

The competition was judged by the Honorable Judge Bobby Ray Baldock, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit; the Honorable E. Grady Jolly, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; and the Honorable Emmett Ripley Cox, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

2011 Robert J. Grey Negotiations Finals – Friday, Sept. 30

Gary Young and Penn Clark won the 2011 Robert J. Grey Negotiations Competition.  Chris Bou Saeed and Garret Greiner were the Runners-Up. Also competing in the finals were the teams of Josh Verkerk and Brian Baird and David Bean and Stephen Donaldson.
