Undergraduate School: Colgate University
|
I have always known that I wanted to go to law school, and after seeing what a great experience a small school can be, Washington and Lee was the perfect fit. I wanted a school with academic excellence, personality, companionship and passion—and I think W&L is just that.
My favorite professor after my first semester here at W&L is Professor Millon. I was lucky enough to be in his small section for Contracts, and he did a great job of getting to know me and helping me to develop my legal writing skills.
After going to school in Upstate New York, my favorite thing about Lexington is probably the warm weather. I also like that the town is unintimidating, but is only a few hours away from Washington, D.C.
Coming to W&L, like most first year law students, I had no idea what to expect. However, in just a few short days, I was pleasantly surprised. I found that the professors were surprisingly understanding when an incorrect answer was given, my classmates were much less competitive than anticipated and I found ways to belong to the community faster than I ever imagined.
