I decided to go to law school because I wanted to combine my science degree with law and go into intellectual property. I decided to attend W&L law school because I was really impressed by the trusting community, helpful student body, and close professor student relationship.
My favorite professor is Professor Murchison. His animation and enthusiasm makes a difficult subject fun and easy to learn. In addition to studying cases, he teaches his students how to analyze and approach the law at different angles.
My favorite classroom moment was the first class I ever had in law school. Our torts professor walked in wearing a judge's robe and made all of us act like we were in a real court room. It was terrifying because everyone thought this was representative of all law school classes. We soon realized this wasn't true. Looking back, it was a funny moment and very characteristic of our professor's fun personality.
My favorite part of Lexington is the downtown area. I enjoy studying at the small coffee shop when I want to get away from the law school library.
I am currently involved in Law Ambassadors, the Honor Advocate program and serve on the Faculty Appointment Committee. Being involved makes me feel like I'm part of the law school community rather than just a student attending classes. Through these organizations I have also gotten to know a lot of my fellow classmates better. It's really great hanging out with classmates outside of the classroom settings.
