After hearing the horror stories about ultra-competitive schools, I knew that I wanted to attend a collegial law school. After visiting W&L, I knew that this school offered a friendly and welcoming environment. Law school is difficult no matter where you go, but it is nice to know that you can choose to study in a supportive and friendly environment. The small class sizes and close-knit community make it very easy to develop friendships, which are very important to break up those long days of reading and studying.
I loved my small section legal writing and contracts class. Professor Millon is always rooting for his students to succeed, and he really cares about the total well-being of his students.
On the last day of classes, Professor Murchison read a poem which basically summarized the entire Torts Course in a humorous way. It was a great way to end class and to add a little theatrics to the law.
Convenience. I love that I can walk to school in less than 10 minutes and drive in less than 5. When you're always busy, it's great to know that you'll never have to deal with traffic or long lines.
Phi Alpha Delta, and, through the Nabors Service League, I volunteer for Valley Associates for Independent Living (VAIL). This is a local organization promoting independence for people with physical disabilities. This has been a great opportunity to get out in the community. It's always nice to have conversations with people who aren't consumed by law casebooks to keep your perspective.
