Undergraduate School: Emory University Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia "Many institutions find it economically efficient to relegate their students to a number.  Fortunately, my interactions with W&L's faculty and administration are personal exchanges, not business transactions.  The small student population and the strong Honor System foster a highly supportive and collegial atmosphere.  The cutthroat environment described by law school prep literature is nonexistent here."

What has been your favorite class/classroom experience?

Constitutional Law. Where else would you act out a 5 minute version of MacBeth to analogize Justice Jackson's concurring opinion in Youngstown Sheet & Co. v. Sawyer?

What's your favorite thing about Lexington?

Dan Coffey, the bookstore czar.  He knows every student by name. 

What student organizations are you involved with?

Kirgis Fellows, Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice, and Phi Alpha Delta. Being a Kirgis Fellow is my most meaningful experience at W&L.  This structured mentorship program symbolizes many of the strengths of our school: the administration's dedication to the success of its students, the collegiality within the student population, and free pizza for all.

Where have you worked during your time in law school and how has W&L prepared you to meet the challenges of those practical experiences?

I credit W&L's Legal Research and Writing curriculum for allowing me to excel in my first year internship.  The firm's confidence in my research and writing abilities allowed me to compose briefs without assistance and cite-check my managing attorney's work. 

Anything else you would like to add?

Law school admissions literature is an informative and relatively low-cost marketing device.  However, your decision on where to attend law school is a significant financial and personal commitment.  Because a pamphlet or website can not fully capture the uniqueness of our institution, I strongly urge all prospective students to visit W&L.  My fellow students and I look forward to meeting you.
