Undergraduate School: New York University Hometown: New Hyde Park, New York"My visit to Washington and Lee really stood out in my mind when I was visiting law schools – everything about W&L is unique. I found the smaller class size to be really attractive and I thought the environment felt perfect for attending law school." |
I think Scott Sundby is an amazing professor. He brought an incredible amount of energy into the classroom and was passionate about criminal law. He made class fun and taught us lessons that reached far beyond the classroom.
I love the quaintness of Lexington. Coming from NYC, I really appreciate its small size and peacefulness.
I am currently Executive Editor of the Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice (JCRSJ). My involvement on JCRSJ has given me the opportunity to write about important issues concerning racial and ethnic minorities and how they intersect with the law.
I am also involved with the SBA as President of the 3L class. This job has allowed me to connect with my fellow 3Ls and really brainstorm ways to not only make the most of our 3L year, but to figure out how to ensure that we leave a lasting impact on the W&L community.
This summer I worked as a summer associate at Weil, Gotshal, & Manges in New York City. I rotated through three departments, Corporate, Litigation, and Bankruptcy. My class work and writing seminars definitely prepared me well for my research and memo assignments with partners and associates.
Update: Kristen now works in New York City at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP.
